The Project
The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
The M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunities
In line with the above scope and commencement of construction activities in 2022, CGU JV is seeking expressions of interest from construction personnel across all disciplines in the following positions:
Tunnel Personnel - Dump Truck Operators, Electrical Tradespersons, Formworkers, Gantry Operators, Crane Operators, General Labourers, Jumbo Operators, Loader or Excavator Operators, Mechanical Tradesperson - Boilermakers, Mechanical Tradesperson – Mechanics, Mechanical Tradesperson – Fitters, New Entrants (New to major tunnelling projects), Plant Operators, Rock Bolters, Shotcreters, Shot Firers, Store Persons, Tunnellers, Water Treatment Plant Operators & Yardman.
Civil Personnel - Carpentry Trades, Concrete Finishers, Concrete Gang, Concrete Paving Works, Earthworks Spotters, EWP Operators, Forklift Operators, Form Setters & Formworkers, General Labourers, Grade checkers, Hiab Operators, Leading Hands, New Entrant (New to major civil projects), Roller Operators, Survey Assistants, Skidsteer Operators, Steelfixers, Store Persons & Traffic Controllers

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates who have proven experience working on major urban infrastructure projects, including road and tunnel construction.

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications, construction industry induction (white card), drivers’ licence and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
